Self-Esteem Development
Don't let very low self esteem damage your
life. Your mental image of yourself
influences how you interact with others.
What are instances of low self-esteem that
demand drastic change?
1. Nothing you are doing seems to succeed.
2. You believe that folks don't appreciate
you.
3. You believe that you are not beautiful.
4. You decide on something and it winds up
being the very worst alternative.
5. You are reluctant to have a conversation
with others in case what you say might not
make sense.
6. You feel swallowed up in a surge of
stress.
What's the matter with you? Your own
feelings, actually.
Give up thinking that the whole world is
closing in on you. Be determined to achieve
what you want. Stop blaming other people for
your troubles. Everybody is not your
problem, you really are your own problem.
From this point on, begin the task of self
esteem growth. Fix up your thinking and be
determined to win, and win you will. Just
remember that victory never comes easily and
that is why passion is its counterpart.
Oftentimes, one gets to the point of success
and with just a little frustration or
setback, they lose hope too easily and too
soon. That's a guaranteed recipe for low
self esteem. Who knows what terrific things
might have been achieved if only they had
kept going?
Lacking high self esteem, your life could be
very tedious. Shift your thinking and begin
to see yourself on top of the world. Make a
particular effort to be what you really
would like to be.
You have to very seriously decide either to
remain in a sad state of low self esteem, or
build high self esteem with excellent
character and self image.
The origins of low self esteem.
Low self esteem could begin way back in the
early years when young children are made to
think that they are incapable. Their self
esteem is reduced and they give in to the
idea that they can never achieve success in
anything that they do. They were picked on,
laughed at, pushed around, called unpleasant
names, and treated with derision. No wonder
they grew up to be full of hostility.
If that was your situation, it's time you
cut yourself loose from that state of mind
and do some self esteem repair. Start
reading about the lives of very successful
people and you will soon find out that a
number of them had such low self esteem that
they could not even complete the most basic
education.
Many of them made the decision to overcome
their low self esteem and improve their
outlook, whatever it took. They became some
of the greatest people that ever lived.
Low self esteem has never been very useful
for anyone else and it sure will not help
you. It can only send you into unhappiness,
resentment, bitterness, fear and all the
other problems that it produces.
Hence, re-program your way of thinking and
control your state of mind. You must believe
in your self-worth or you will keep on being
at the bottom and never attempt to climb it.
Don't waste your life away with feelings of
incompetency. Instead, think of ways to go
about boosting your self esteem.
